Ceilings

 Ceilings

The types of ceilings, such as cathedral ceilings, directly applied ceilings, and SAPC (suspended acoustical panel ceilings), are options designers can choose when building.

The directly applied ceilings use the Gypsum board or plaster; this type of ceiling is mostly used in residential homes. The plaster version of the directly applied ceilings is applied only after a three-coat system is laid over, and in the past, this type of plaster ceiling was used for crown moldings and medallions.

The SAPC, also known as Suspended Acoustical Panel Ceilings, is used in commercial buildings since it provides noise control, and it is easy to work with electrical wiring and Sprinkler lines, so it is more commonly used in commercial buildings since they deal with more maintenance than residential homes and it is a more sustainable ceiliging and they are made of either fiber glass or or mineral fiber and it can be made of wood or other materials hence why it is more sustainable.

An exposed Ceiling is painted to match the ceiling, which helps make the space feel much bigger with increased height. This type of ceiling uses round ducts and incorporates heating, ventilation, and HVAC design.
